Ok so before I begin, I want to highlight that this is the design thread. Questions in regards to the hilt run must stay on the interest thread which is posted in off-site runs (things are progressing nicely and we will post there when we have some updates for the hilt run). I need to keep updates regarding the hilt now there due to forum rules. Please make sure inquiries around the run go in the right place. Alright. So now that is done, I wanted to let you all know that our design efforts have not ceased. To complement the upcoming hilt, I have begun designing the corresponding crystal chamber. I would love everyone's opinions, thoughts, feedback, reactions. If you hate it, tell me. If you love it, also tell me. The intention to this is a pogo pin assembly for connectivity to the emitter very similar to hero chassis for other makers, but the intent is to be much more elaborate and also to be capable to affix to the hilt in a very sturdy and dependable fashion. (I left extra female threads in the body for a reason... now you see why I did that). What I am keenly interested in is the feedback from you all in terms of what people like to see in chamber designs and what things I may not have accounted for. So here is what I have so far: This is not finished yet at the very front, and the front section of the chamber intended to convey an energy channeling conduit still needs additional elements, but I am curious what everyone thinks. Note, this is intended to support a number of different chamber configurations and crystal sizes, ranging all the way up to the new neopixel crystals released at TCSS. What I am interested in is what feedback people have?

First reaction - can you make this available to go with the run? Seriously, I think this looks very solid, and in line with what I wold expect of a high-end saber. Well done!

Is a trade off since not everyone would want one so is it better to offer it as a separate add on sold separately, or have an elevated price on the MoM to include it? (Not to mention delaying the run to finish the design, prototype and fabricate them.) There is also value in offering it separately because it is actually expected to fit Anakin Starkiller's hero as well since early on we did a lot of note comparing. Insofar as I know Anakin adjusted his threading to match so this chamber also would fit his hilt.

Looks awesome! Would be interested if you were offering them as a separate add on or being sold separately. Saw the interest thread on the MoM of all heroes and was on the fence in getting it...but seeing this has made me decide that I need the MoM hilt and this chamber

Looks awesome! Would just depend on price.

I'd probably buy it separately, but I really like the look of it.

Hey dayadjocen ! Where are you planning to put the Crystal? In the 'Radiator Section' or in the 'Dot-Dash, Dash, Dot-Dash Cutout Section'? If you put the Crystal in the Radiator Section, you could put some sort of fibers in the Cutout Section and light them as well. I think that would give a neat 'Plasma Creation Field'-esque effect. If you tucked 3 3535's in there you could add a spinning effect to them and make the fibers shutter-strobe to create a sense of movement within the fibers without actually having to make them move! Good Luck on the rest of the design!

So yeah as I was envisioning how it would be installed would be crystal in the radiator fins area, and some diffusion film in the dot dash conduit area with some 3535s along with the wires running to the emitter pogo connector. Would make a crystal and a glowing conduit area. Can of course also be done with traditional LEDs too... but exactly what I was thinking.

I like the idea of the 3535's - is there a way to design a slot/pocket for easy placement and securing of those small lights?
