I was on facebook just a minute ago and ran across someone asking how to get a free saber. Maybe a contest or something. Most of the reactions were laughing faces. When I looked a little deeper I found out she's legally blind and doesn't have her own money to spend on one. This broke my heart. I don't have the money to build her one but I can offer my services for free and will do so happily. If you guys can help me gather up some stuff I'll build it and send it to her on my dime. You can respond here or send me a pm if you have an empty or any parts you can spare. I can probably come up with a board, battery, etc but I just don't have the money for a hilt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. MTFBWYA!
I love this place and I love you guys. Where others laugh, we go into action. TRA forever!
I’ve always said I didn’t care if we were ever the biggest. I wanted us to be the best. This is why the TRA thrives. We not only care about other people but we put our words into action with our time, talents and wallets.
I reviewed this girl’s FB page and she seems like a perfect candidate that is deserving of the enormous love and generosity of the TRA members.
Hmmmm, on her facebook page she has a concept saber that she put together. It looks basically like a Kanan emitter with mhs parts, graflex clamp, and kanan modified pommel. I just got off the phone with aaron and he has some Kanan parts he can spare and will get in the mail to me. I can do the lathe work to make it come together if scarecrow can do the install. I can spare a blade as well.
hit me up in our facebook messenger chat if you want, Scare.

I can't believe the amount of responses I've received in just a few hours. Really guys, it's been amazing. It just goes to show how much kindness and generosity there is in the world and especially here. My original intention was just to gather some parts and do the best I could with them. Instead, we're making her dream saber come true. It's got me misty eyed to say the least.
As for parts, I think we're getting there. Aaron is donating parts from his Kanaan run that should match her emitter and pommel. Shane is machining the remainder and making the neopixel blade. Grif has offered up a clamp and other parts after offering to machine the whole thing. Clint is going to work on a control box. Maybe something with AV switches since they're illuminated and easy to use. Frederick is donating one of the new Golden Harvest boards. I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting. I'm sorry if I missed you, it's not on purpose.
As for cash donations, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable taking money from anyone but I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the offer. I'm sure the others involved feel the same way. With that being said, Melissa isn't a wealthy person by any means. I'm thinking that maybe we could take donations for her. I'll talk to Luke and see if that's something we can do with the forum paypal account. It might help her get out a little more often. I know she'd really like to.
I think I've covered most everything for now. It's getting late here and I've got to put some more time in on the bench. No rest for the weary, you know. Again, I thank you all for being just what you are. Exceptionally kind and generous people. I'll keep everyone updated and let you know how things are going once I know more. Best, Brandon
