2019 wasn’t the most productive year at LBSF, but I will start the year 2020 with the "The Sound of Myths & Fables" trilogy for CFX and Proffie.
Inspired by the stories of George Mann and the illustrations of Grant Griffin, I want to add value beyond the pure lightsaber sound and try to tell a story. However, the fonts will also be designed to be reduced to the pure lightsaber sound, if desired. I hope you will enjoy this as much as I do. Here are already the three teaser trailers:
Today I am very much looking forward to presenting you the "The Sound of Myths & Fables Trilogy". It consists of three different fonts, inspired by the stories from the book "Star Wars - Myths & Fables", written by George Mann and illustrated by Grant Griffin.
The fonts are:
The Dark Wraith The Knight & The Dragon The Wanderer
Each font includes the Plecter CFX AND the Proffie SmoothSwing version.
The fonts can be used as pure saber sounds, but they really become interesting with the included Ambiance Tracks, which reflect the atmosphere of the respective story.
A detailed description of each font can be found below.
The Dark Wraith
A CFX/Proffie Smoothswing Font inspired by the terrifying stories about Darth Vader in the book "Star Wars - Myths & Fables" written by George Mann.
"All who witnessed it described him as a figure of purest shadow, emerging from the darkness like a nightmare given flesh. His face was terrible, eyeless visage, and his arm burned red like the fires of hate, humming with terrible, exotic power. The sound that accompanied his passing was like no other sound in the galaxy - half machine, half man, like the rush of air before an explosion, like the universe itself drawing breath."
A CFX/Proffie Smoothswing Font inspired by the story about Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Krayt Dragon on Tatooine in the book "Star Wars - Myths & Fables" written by George Mann.
"The old knight had raised his hand above his head, his palm held out toward the dragon, mere centimeters from where its tapered snout hovered. The villagers held their breaths. The night had grown suddenly still. The old knight's blade flickered once, then blinked out. Then the dragon exhaled gently, issuing a content sigh, before lowering itself slowly to the ground. Like a Loth-wolf pup before its mother, the dragon Krayt prostrated itself before the knight, its head coming to rest on the sand by his feet."
A CFX/Proffie Smoothswing Font inspired by the story about a mysterious, supportive Jedi on Cerosha in the book "Star Wars - Myths & Fables" written by George Mann.
"The Wanderer always traveled alone, appearing in flowing brown robes, with a neatly trimmed beard and a mane of chestnut-colored hair that flowed over his shoulders. He carried a sword that seemed to glow with its own inner light, and he commanded the power of gods, for he understood the natural order of things and had power over all the creatures and the trees and the rising tide."
