About the Darksaber Mando episode, that was indeed some juicy info! More on that later as right now we are focused on getting everything taken care of with this run. Aaron has been shipping these out this past week.
Sorry! Here it is.
To complete this build you will need the following, the part numbers applies to any overseas digikey site as well.
Those are for the battery compartment design in the chassis ryo made. Honestly the fit is so snug no glue is needed.
Now for the blade connector pins. IMPORTANT NOTE, each pack/order has 10 pins. And aren't sold individually. So, you'll have extras. I learned that the hard way when ordering $70 worth (3 of each order) of pins not realizing that they are 10 to a pack. So, again. just add one of each to cart. These are very good quality high rated gold plated connectors and more than capable of handling neo currents.
A note on the design. If you look at them you'll see that they are designed to be inserted from the back and then lock into place. Like an arrow head, they go in, but don't like to come out. This is fine for the saber side connector, but not possible for the blade side. When doing that one you will want to bend the tabs in slightly to allow it to be inserted backwards. Also, what I did was heat shrink the outer sections of the connector (two ring section). This increased the OD to what it needs to be for centering the pin in the hole, since you don't have the expanding locking tabs to do it for you. A tab of glue holds them there. Also, the rear of the connector pins, with the beveled edge, you want to file that down so it can sit deeper in the blade. If you don't you're blade wont seat all the way and you'll have a tiny bit of stick out.
NOTE, no recharge port on this setup guys. removable battery design for classic non pre-wired 18650's. It just made sense with an easy access removable side plate.
Also NOTE: I'm just giving everyone the quick and dirty how-to on a few of the things that make this build unique. I'd expect a very detailed and thorough guide from Ryo soon.
