This is a sample video of the design of the blade.
Fully CNC machined from Polycarbonate (Polycarbonate plastics are engineering plastics in that they are typically used for more capable, robust materials such as in impact resistant “glass-like” surfaces)
Custom Neopixel socket setup for dual 144led Neopixel illumination.

The Main post has always said the blade was seperate, and the website has said the same.
Through the prototype process we have had to tweak/revise/etc. Also, the materials for the blade were not set in stone, as we had to really go through some serious research in the process of "GETTING THERE" with respect to the most durable material choice of the POLYC variants.
We also knew, that during the hilt machining process' that any run participant would have the opportunity to aquire the blade prior to the hilts being completed.
Most importantly, getting the cost for the blade down as low as possible for as complicated to create it is was a challenge in itself. I think you guys will be happy once we show them.

I think you guys will be surprised once we post the blade availibilty.
Please keep in mind the limited nature of this whole production, at its core its really about engineering and making something that at first glance was challenging to do. Add to that the small scale of the project with the amount of time/ materials/ tooling/ the blade will be really inexepesive.
We will post the cost stuff asap, it really depends on the final production number when the run closes in a few days. Don't worry, they will be discounted for the pre order participants, becuase we know they are necessary to complete the saber.
Some people will just want the hilt to display, so we will get that final #. Its not gonna be ridiculous, as the option of DIY blade will be available.

Holy cow I had notifications on only for the interest thread, and if it weren't for the video being posted today I would have missed this run. A Neopixel blade is amazing news; I was expecting a regular in-hilt LED. Time to see if I've got some cash available before a week is up...
Do we have any internal dimensions? I'd love to start thinking about crystal chamber designs.

is there a cost defined for the blade yet? No not yet. We plan on making those as a kit and will be prototyping one shortly to show you guys. It's going to be made out of a custom machined piece of polycarbonate. And will be offered up as a kit, because kit's is what we do. Most likely there will be an option to have it built as well, not sure yet on that but we will see. Kit's will be cheaper and that's what we've always tried to do for you guys. |

I'm absolutely stalking this thread for any additional info about blade before deadline approaches. I'm on the fence about maxing out on these hilts. I figure I could sell one to finance the whole gig, but really need a bit more information to see if that plan is going to be cost-effective. I know NWL sabers hold their value, I'm not worried about that.
Do you think there will be any guestimate on blade cost prior to the deadline? I guess that is a lot of our concern, if the blade is going to be another 500 bucks, that makes this a steep climb. I want another one, just the unknown costs are scaring the crap out of me on pulling the trigger on another one.
