I have put the blades ordering on the website, If you like you can PM me or email [email protected] to add it In many cases shipping the blade in a seperate shipping tube will be most cost effective, I have already purchased the shipping supplies to do just that, but I will have to go through each order on a case by case basis and make sure shipping is correct +/- and make adjustsments with each recipient. You are welcome to check out on the website, and I will update you client files/ list. PayPal sent. Thanks. |

Hey guys, I have seen some responses about the blade but my questions haven’t been answered. What is included in the kit exactly?
Will I need to provide pixel strips on my own? If so what size 5050, 3535,...
will the special connector be included for both sides (hilt and blade)?

Its not a secret, it includes the blade and the Blade graphics. The LED strips will not be included. I want you guys to keep in mind that the blade material start has huge 4'x4' + plates of solid Polycarbonate, and they require several painstaking setups to make. The same kind of sheets used to make bullet proof windows. We are going to be showing a bunch more stuff, as well as a working saber here shortly. Obishane has many more details that he is going to go over in a much more eloquent breakdown with the tech info. We want them to be nothing short of truly epic, and accurate. Hey guys, coming on board to try and help clarify a few things on this if anyone is still a bit confused. I've gone back and read the last few pages several times now so that I don't miss anything. But I can see why everyone was a bit confused, I myself was a bit confused when I went to Aaron's website even tho I talk with him daily. Ok, so to clarify, the blade kits will not ship with any Neopixel strips. You are free to choose what strips you want. What strips will fit? When Aaron and I worked out the dimensions we did it so that the SK6812 144's fit, back to back two strips. So the larger dome 5050's. So if these fit, then any 144 will fit that I can think of. The blades will come with connectors, They will be 3 gold plated large gauge pins. About the previous pictures Aaron posted with the lightning esq blade. That was just him messing around in solidworks and I'm afraid probably did more damage then good. Anyways, moving along, the blade will be nothing like that. And in fact will be based on an actual screen grab that is slightly cleaned up and enhanced. That was something I stressed when we decided to go the route we are and because of what Clint is able to do. We might as well go full on accurate if we can, right? That looks very cool...but I hope it is only a first pass or a placeholder. I do not think the dark blade effect is replicated well at all in those images. In The Clone Wars, Rebels, and in The Mandalorian, the blade is almost entirely black but has many small soft crackles of white near the front edge of the blade. Not a few large lightning bolts over the whole flat of the blade. Also the white glow should be visible around the entire edge for sure... Hoping for as accurate as possible please   I agree on all points, and exactly what I see as well. Specifically the blade and your observation that the whisps/crackles only seem to appear on the "cutting edge" and almost solely in and around the center of the blade and a little at the base, so the tip remains almost entirely black in all scenes. If you guys are able to manufacture something that actually looks like that...then wow. Consider me impressed. Although I will say that I've looked through every Darksaber scene I can think of and I have never seen the wisps / crackles appear from the back of the blade; only from the front. (Like in forcellama's photos.) I sometimes see it in promotional images but never in the actual shows. So in my opinion it should lean towards something like this:  I think you're going to be, and everyone else too. I'm pretty excited about this I won't lie, I've said in the team meetings that the blade is in many ways more important than the saber. So we did the deep dive on this one. It was always the goal to achieve a gradient transition in the lighting effects on the flat of the blade. Also, I touched on that in my previous reply above as well. There will be no "wisps" lets call them that, near the back of the blade or even the tip. I think I have only ever seen just a tiny sliver of one near the tip of one scene and it was just for a micro second. The current status right now is the blade and saber are on the way to me to prep for the install. Hoping to get the thumbs up from Ryo this week on ordering the chassis. We got some good stuff coming for you guys. |

I would however like some concrete instructions for how to add a blade to my order because I'm still pretty confused as to how that's working right now. Do we for sure need to go to the website and order separately? Or can we somehow add it to our order here on the forum?

The blades will ship in seperate tube mailers, becuase of the weight and length it makes it more cost efficient for everyone to do this. If you would like, you are all more then welcome to email me at [email protected] I can manually add it to your order, I am sorry for the confusion. I had to work out the best way of addressing the blades, the shipping, and sourcing the materials here to get the cost down as far as humanly possible. This saber is super important, and to my knowledge no one has ever done what we are doing with the hilt and blade regarding accuracy of either, muchless to the extent of the tech involved with the custom neo pixel design being integrated. thanks, Solo |
