Just caught up late on this one,& gotta say that was my personal favourite episode to date! Brilliant tone,& location choice... a still-young Cal Kestis could well be somewhere on Bracca at this point, although I can't remember if it was specified how long he'd been there by the beginning of Fallen Order.π€
Could be getting a bit ahead of myself there!π

I gotta say that'd be a pretty awesome direction for the show! How many doors they will open is yet unclear because I think they want to set up a bunch of other shows, but at the same time I think they wanna keep it mostly this group..? Hard to say where they're gonna go?

So Cad Bane is an EXCELLENT twist to this story! Sure stirs things up for my liking!
I'm curious as to why there isn't more interest in this show? I've heard that there's not too much reaction from fans out there? I've heard the criticism that Omega is just another baby Yoda Grogu type thing and the comparison to Mando is too similar... I guess that's fair but honestly that thought never even crossed my mind just watching it. Anywho, I think the show is great and can't wait for more!
I'm such a PT junky though, any continuation on where CW ended is just extra icing for me...

I feel like that was another great episode! I feel like they're going to get a reprieve (at least for a while) from the bounty hunter issue.
I hope now it takes a shift towards the whole "pre" rebellion stuff? I wanna see more Rex, and I wanna see Ahsoka and REALLY hope we get some Vader? But most of all I wanna see more Tarkin, Crosshair and Empire stuff.

Well after a two week hiatus ((ill health, plus prioritising a certain saber build),I'm finally up to date with the show- had a double bill of it today!Still loving the direction,& seeing the much-younger Fennec getting the better of Cad Bane was great fun.
I admit that when Omega first showed up in this series,my heart sank & I thought, "Ugh,here comes the soft Disney family angle," but honestly that's not how it's playing out for me.Latest ep certainly shows her gaining some independence & spark,& the importance of her genetic material is an interesting avenue.
I was also wondering who exactly she was a clone of,so that's been answered now... not sure how I feel about that one yet.
I too feel it's time for more Tarkin & full Imperial entanglements,so let''s watch this space!

Well looking like my hunch is panning out? Looks like the Batch is getting pulled into a pre Rebellion whether they want it or not π
Only 6 leftπ this stuff goes by so fast! Like any good show I'm sure this will leave us "wanting"π
I think this particular episode wasn't quite as good as the others so far but it seems more like a transition episode to a very interesting direction? I still enjoyed it though. Some good action!
I love that Sid always just calls Hunter (Bandana!π
π€£π€£) and I see they're leaving Omega around a real "positive" influence!π

YES!!! So glad to see the Syndulla family and having young Hera with good ole chopper!!!ππ
π€£
The Ryloth series (both of them) in the CW are some of my favorite in the series. Also great 2 part series with Grand Admiral Thrawn in Rebels with Hera's father. Looking like Hera is gonna need some help from the Batchπ
This is just darn good stuff all around! On a side note I know I've mentioned it like 8,000 times but the animation is just beyond incredible to me. One thing I noticed was on that imperial transport vehicle with the 8 giant tires. (Didn't catch a name of that type of vehicle?) The suspension and shocks! I mean sort of a minuscule thing to notice but man, the way that looked so real navigating the turns and torain was something I couldn't help but notice! Also the backdrop of the moon they went to, (I also didn't catch the name of that) but planet in the background and the night skyline was something else! Really great episode for me

Totally agreed, fantastic episode- poor little Hera,so her parents were framed by the Empire!& when she calls Chopper "her" droid, she wasn't kidding... had no idea they'd been a team for so long! Great stuff all round, loving it.π

I was super stoked for this episode! I really love this angle with the Clone Houser. I'm actually really glad he didn't die in this episode. I do believe he is going to end up sacrificing himself for the greater good but this was much better. The way he showed that there really are still a bunch of clone troopers that HATE what they're doing. I'd really like to see the biggest reason that Empire has to resort to enlisting soldiers is cause they have too much resistance from the Clones.
Also I'm glad that Hera's mom is still going as well cause we know that by the time Rebels comes she is no longer alive. So what happens to her exactly is still up in the air? IDK??? Maybe I'll go back and watch the Ryloth episodes of Rebels but if memory serves me right they never actually say what happened to her just that she's gone.
I like the Omega Hera angle as well of them helping... also Crosshair showing signs of regret, but yet still hard at it... he's definitely coming after the Bad Batch with the blessing of the Admiral. So the last 4 episodes we should see some conclusions with that hole story? Can he still be saved? Can they even remove his chip now that he's been so burned up? Does he even "want" to be saved? Good stuff! It'll be fun to watch how the early forms of Rebels form and how the empire is able to keep disorganization amongst all the cells for many years? Do the Clones rebel? Do they fight each other?
Love this show!!!

Totally seconded,DB!Loved this episode, when Houser made his speech to his troops I thought they were all just going to gun him down, but the fact that the Clones AREN'T all just slaved to their chips with no question complicates things brilliantly...
& the style of this show just goes from strength to strength, every scene just reads & sounds like pure Star Wars.Very happy with it,just a bit gutted there are only a few eps left already!π¨

It goes by so fast! When Disney + first came out I was disappointed that they weren't going to release full seasons like Netflix and such but I'm actually really glad this a weekly thing. It gives me something to look forward to on release day. I'm actually very excited about the future of Star Wars as long as Filoni and Favreau have the helm

Not as excited about Ep13. I felt like it took too much of detour from the main plot. I'm not that much of a fan of Cid but I didn't think the Ep was bad necessarily but with the Pikes being involved there's a good chance Maul could be showing up before the end of the season as wellππ€

Indeed,I hate to use the word "filler" but this ep definitely smacked of it... possibly after the last two stellar episodes anything would seem a bit weaker. As soon as the passage through the mine section started,I just went Oh,this is their Mines Of Moria attempt,& then the light-shunning bugs showed up which was then Pitch Black.π€·πΌββοΈπ
So I'm guessing too that the upcoming finale eps may have a big villain character threat too,I just thought more Tarkin stuff maybe, but Maul would be great!π€π»

So looks like we got some good action on our hands? Probably gonna have to figure out a way to take down that base where they got Hunter captured?
Maybe they can get Crosshair back and if they were to take down that base it may attract some attention from some higher ups??? Like say,,, VADER??? Perhaps some Jedi will have to get involved? That could be the beginning of the inquisitors??? I don't know? I sure love the show though!!!
Only two leftπ

Finally got up to date with this last night.Yeah, now this ep was much more back on point!Great to see how Gregor went rogue & indeed escaped the Empire (his random, glitchy giggles tickle me).
Rise of the TKs!So we finally get to see how the Empire moved over from clones to recruits (a very Thrawn-esque tactic,I might suggest?Get troops who are motivated for a cause, not just born into a kind of slavery).& no - they still never could hit anything,as Gregor didn't teach them to aim properly!π
One touch I really like is that the Batch never shoot to kill when faced with other clones,or for that matter the TKs - always stun rounds.
Great stuff all round!

I liked that point too, up until Wrecker came out of the shuttle firing lethals haha. I thought briefly the one commando that fought them was Scorch and I was sad. Then I realized it didnβt have the extra gear and remembered even Gregorβs armor had yellow on it. Phew!

THANK GOD! I was a tad worried about this coming back? I certainly had hope but I'm a bit concerned that so many have given up on the future of Star Wars to not even give it a chance. I've got multiple friends who haven't even watched Mando yetπ³ (despite) my major recommendations. Let alone Seaon 7 of CW or Bad Batch... I didn't blame them one bit how they felt after TLJ & TROS but I was like DUDE'S!!! You gotta watch this stuff! I think Bad Batch is just phenomenal Star Wars content! I'm not trying to reopen a bitter ST discussion I'm just concerned that this show isn't getting the recognition it deserves? So few talking about it and much speculation that it isn't doing that great as far as streaming ratings go (which is somewhat speculative) but non the less these Filoni shows along with Favreau shows and stuff NEED,,, to succeed!!! It will just be SO MUCH better for the future of the franchise with guys like that in charge of creative. MORE BAD BATCH!!! Keep it coming

Totally agree,DB- give it to Dave & Jon,& I feel like the future of Star Wars is in the safest of hands. If only they'd had the movies too,our fractured fanbase might have been such a different entity by now.ππ Ah well, spilled milk etc...
As long as they keep doing what they're doing,I'm pretty confident about the future for now.Excited for today's finale part 1 episode...π
Until after,then!

Well,,, only one more to go! They've got Crosshair in their custody. Kamino is destroyed! Is Crosshair telling the truth about "removing" his inhibitor chip??? I get the feeling he's lying? But,,, maybe not? Maybe he's just kind of a nasty dude? Hunter certainly looked at his burn scar from the propulsion jets at the scrap yards. Can Crosshair come back? Not sure he wants too?
Wonder where they take him? I thought for sure they would use the facility on Kamino to extract his chip but they threw us a curve ball for sure! I'm really glad they announced another season I just don't want a major cliffhanger π‘ only cause I don't wanna wait to see where it goesππ€£π
in actuality I love a good cliffhanger but I really hope the story goes way more towards the inquisitors and rebellion. I wanna see at least "some" more Jedi. I love the show and that's part of the awesomeness of the show is that not all stories in the Star Wars universe need or even "should", be about the Jedi in some form BUT C'MON we need "some" of thatπ I just have a HUGE fascination with the outcome of Vader during the 20 years between ROTS and ANH. Especially the timeframe (right after) ROTS. Eh,,, maybe that's a whole different show in itself but I would really like to see The Bad Batch set up that show!
One more! It's been a killer season and I'm super pumped it's gonna keep going should be great!?!

Up to speed now- what an episode!May have to re-watch the early episodes as I couldn't remember exactly what the Empire did to Crosshair to amp him up,there was certainly a "shock therapy" scene, think I assumed they'd either removed the chip or turned it up.π€ (Edit: It was all the way back in the first episode,Tarkin had the Kaminoan engineer enhance his chip's programming as it was still giving orders. So,at that point,it WAS still in place.)
Vader should be addressed in the Kenobi series, right? It's set after ROTS but before ANH,& presumably before Rebels season 3 as that overlaps with ANH... I agree that it'd be nice to have a touch of Jedi stuff,as seeing kid Kanan during the Order 66 events was superb.
Can't wait for the finale!π¬

I just binge watched the whole season today. Wow! Kept coming back for more, never once thought "ugh" or "too much filler", except maybe Pikes & spice & bugs. But I'm way invested in Crosshair. I liked the Senator's droid, thought for a minute we'd get her onboard, but we have Gonky Β―\_(γ)_/Β―. Definitely not a young kids show. Some pretty brutal killings. Not sure how I feel about Hera's accent so heavy. She just loses it over time I guess? I remember it came out arguing with Dad once, so ok. Freddie Prinze Jr. as Caleb was solid, as was Tarkin's voice. He actually got to say "you may fire when ready" ! Omega's accent is a bit distracting to me. "e"s are like "i"s, just takes looking past it for me. I guess unique is good. Animation is stellar. While they have that chiseled look to the characters, the faces and expressions are amazing. In my brain Admiral Rampart is the most human looking character yet, and the horned guy running Cid's face was just so perfectly expressive I really dig the environments which are amazing. Loving the Imperial designs and structures. The TK series don't look great...yet. Like not quite what they get to, still kind of marshmallow-y like a Ford Taurus...but that's ok for now I guess. Rambling now. Bring on Season 2!

So I'll say this... I thought the end was satisfying. I wasn't all that in to the episode as much as I would've hope though. The escape from a sinking city wasn't,,, we'll say what I was expecting I guess for my expectations of a season finale.
I will probably like it much better when I watch it again later now that I know what it is. I did really like the fact that Omega saved Crosshair and I also REALLY liked that "he" saved her and AZ! Really good stuff especially considering it didn't follow the norm of she saved him and that opened up a soft spot in his heart and now he's a good guy again. I do think some way he'll probably come around? Maybe he'll end up losing his life at some point but either way I think it'll be an interesting and very moving build up whether he makes amends with them (just before his death) or comes back to the team it definitely was in many ways a neglected plot I feel through the season cause when at the end of the episode it looked to me like the typical redemption reunion kind of thing was coming and I was like "I really don't feel anything for this Crosshair guy" but,,, again to my surprise he didn't "want" to be with them and he certainly didn't apologize or recant anything he did... so I feel like that twist is good and will result in a much more satisfying or "sad" ending as far as that story goes... it was also good at the VERY end to see that it sure looks like next season will be MUCH more Empire centric and that I think will be a GOOD THING!?
Non the less, great season and a great show! Very glad it's coming back!

Cinematic farewell shots of Kamino was killer. Agreed. On some level the ending left me feeling low like the first time I watched ESB. Different from the feeling of hopelessness imparted from the ending of TCW.

Finally up to date!I too felt the end was more of a melancholy "Huh... so where next?" note.Indeed the sinking city escape was more a purely action set piece than what you might expect from a finale.
BUT- good writing in this one,& indeed the entire series, for me.As opposed to TROS' complete lack of consequences when threat is encountered, our heroes always have real fallout to deal with,a la Rebels.
The flooding city was actually just wallpaper to the tension throughout between Crosshair & the Batch being forced to cooperate to survive. The fact that he did NOT cheesily come back to the fold at the end (as I feared he might have, due to "Disneyfication"),with both sides still at an impasse by the last scene & going their own ways due to their polar differences of opinion, was a very dark, mature & satisfying ending for me personally.
I've liked all the characters; Omega has grown into a role far better than I anticipated,Crosshair remained vicious throughout & the Empire's oppression has been constant- the Admiral (Rampart, was it?) is a particularly cold fish, right out of the Tarkin school of evil,so I too am hoping for a lot more Empire in the future.
All in all a great first season, with stunning visuals (particularly the lighting & textures on everything),a superb musical score, great characters,on point editing... but most of all,it feels exactly like Star Wars should, whatever that ethereal feeling is! Two thumbs way up from me.ππ»ππ»
