And. Posting in the correct discussion thread this time.. "Alright. So which one of you guys is it going to be? We need a Gaffi stick smith on the forum now. " -ObiShane, sleep deprived post in the incorrect discussion after watching it release at 1 am. The wood that Boba used was manzanita. It's native to most of the western desert states. I've carved with it a fair bit, but not with the root ball like that. I like how it plays off of Northeastern tribe style clubs (see below), as well as the Polynesian war clubs. Carving and fire-hardening were cool to watch. I was working on a Gandalf LOTR staff, but I might have to switch gears to this in the spring and the backcountry opens up. It was also cool to see the vestment ceremony, and for Boba to make some community connections. It did remind me a bit of A Man Called Horse or Dances with Wolves, or Dances with Banthas, but I was fine with it. A great episode.
Mohawk- Tongan - Of course, Fijian I JUST finished watching it for the second time. I wanted to double check something. I’m telling you man, and like I keep saying on the phone. It’s your time to shine =D. Tuskan’s are hot right now. And I’m all in if you wanna make some gaffi sticks. It’s funny you mention movie vibes because I’m getting a very Boba-Moadib vibe. Moa-Boba? Boba-Dib? Water vision quests, spice smuggling, tribal initiations, I’m loving it big time. The spice must flow. So. What I mainly wanted to double check that was bugging me was the lingering shots on the two patrons in the bar scene where Boba puts the smack down on the biker thugs. They are Luke’s two friends from the deleted scenes. The dudes jacket matches the deleted scene, the girls hair matches and she looks the part. The bar matches well, as does the glass window divider. So his friends are now legit canon. That’s awesome: I love John, Dave, and Robert so much right now.

I'd... NEVER seen this deleted scene before, somehow missed that!Great spot Shane, that does indeed look like the bar & Luke's buds!😲 Yep,Dave,Jon & co are doing it right, safe hands on the tiller at present.
Careful, just imagine what Star Wars fans could be like, united by optimism again...😅

I've got chisels and belt sanders, but getting usable sections of manzanita that size is going to require some scouting as I generally don't see it that big; it certainly doesn't grow to the size shown in boba's lizard trip. It's a dense wood, but cracks much easier than scrub oak does (which is plentiful locally), so that could work for a proto-type. nice catch on the bar scene - I hadn't seen that clip before.

So watching the episode last time I started wondering who was playing the part of the Tusken raider who teaches Boba how to fight. Their movement is just so on point with everything. You can tell it's a real fighter under that cloth and not just a trained actor. Or at least that was what I thought. Their speed, agility, very deliberate and precise head movements and bike posture all stood out to me. It's a woman named Joanna Bennet. She's awesome. Wonder Woman, Cpt Marvel, the Wasp, Agent Carter. It's nuts. Check out those credits. www.imdb.com/name/nm4131057/

As I was taking a look she was only listed as Tusken Warrior but then randomly it popped up in my feed somehow and confirmed with her actual Instagram post that it was her, BOOM. Internet algorithm voodoo! www.instagram.com/joannabennett_/www.imdb.com/title/tt13668894/Robert Rodriguez plays Dokk Strassi and Mayor Mok Shaiz. Chief is played by this guy, seems like a fighter turned actor, www.imdb.com/name/nm9009551/mediaindex/?ref_=nm_mv_closeSo we might see him pop up in some fight stuff in the future.

This episode was AWESOME!!!! Easy 9 out of 10 for me. My favorite part has to be the flashbacks but seeing black krrsantan in the present was awesome as well (maybe a Segway into doctor aphra)I love bobas character development in this episode and the tusken raiders are very well done. And the the Jaffi stick forging the whole train sequence was awesome as well. Hopefully the rest of the series can keep up this high quality

That was so cool seeing Danny Trejo in this! I love how they expanded upon the rancor angle of master beast bonding. He'll probably end up bonding with the rancor but I still get a funny feeling the "gift" might be a trap? At least that's the suspicion I got from Trejo's character?
I kind of dig the whole youth, (crotch rocket style) Fast & Furious speeder bike gang! I'm more of a Sons of Anarchy Harley style speeder bike gang guy myself 😅🤣😂 but could be cool? We don't really know much about the youngsters yet.
One thing I noticed during the chase seen was it seemed a bit slow? I think it came off slower cause they wanted a lot of close ups of the actors and actual set scenes rather than a huge super fast CGI chase? I like the trade off it came off really cool for me!
I also thought Black Krrsantan was gonna end up joining him? Eh,,, he may be back? Lol. I don't read the comics or anything so until this show I had know idea whobhe was anyway but he's pretty B.A. they'll probably work him back in and stuff.
I really liked it.

I laughed out loud and cheered when I saw Trejo roll up with the strapped down Rancor. I can spot that face a mile away. You knew Robert was going to work him in somewhere. I love it when friends get work for friends as long as they are capable actors, and who doesn't love Trejo. There's definitely some sort of malicious intent with the gift, I got the same vibe. I think Rancor's are intelligent and it understood exactly what Trejo said by him being back soon. probably so he could eat him. We will probably see the gift backfire tho, and I thought Boba's line about "I've ridden larger creatures" was pretty great and a nod to the Holiday special.
I doubt the Hutts are just going to dip out and leave, what they were mentioning about the syndicate might be interesting. Especially if we see Han Solo's old flame show back up. How cool would that be.
I did not like seeing the Tusken camp get wiped out tho. We didn't see the boy and the combat specialist's bodies so they might show back up again, hopefully.
The cyperpunk teens on Space Vespas didn't blow me away too much. Their acting was fine, but there was just something off about it and them in general, we'll see. The super clean and brand new look of their bikes definitely didn't fit well with what we normally see on Tatooine. They have to be funded by someone somehow? The guy mentioned how much his eye cost him. Seems odd that they'd have this kind of excess money to spend when there is no work and stuff. I mean there were camped outside the guys place they robbed from? And what was with that look from the guy when they all left? AKA The Office stapler guy.

The I love Office Space and didn't even think of that... I thought of News Radio!😅🤣😂 Jimmy James (James James) a name so nice they named me twice Lol I was thinking about Trejo and totally get that vibe that's it's a trick but I just watched it a second time after work tonight and didn't really catch the first time (not sure how?) But the blindfold was still on the rancor. Was Boba really the first human he saw? Cause if so then maybe he will just imprint on Boba? And yeah, totally cool that reference to the Holiday special cause the imprint thing also reminded me of this fan film... which would also be a pretty cool (silent) acknowledgement???

Something about that episode felt off to me. I enjoyed it very much, but it seemed like a wild mix of unrefined ideas mashed together. I usually watch twice before I comment in the thread, but this has me feeling so off. One thing I will say is the chase scene was incredibly campy to me, which imo absolutely does not belong in the SW universe. Like, after the pedestrians trying to cross the streets, the melons falling into the cockpit of the speeder were the killing stroke.

Why on Tattooine were we suddenly subjected to the Quadrophenia tropical paint job moped kids gang,& the ridiculous 70s cop show car chase (even crashing through a bloody Jabba painting that was being carted across the street for no apparent reason)... in a STAR WARS series?!?🤦🏼♂️
Apart from that... not bad,the Rancor was a cool introduction & the brawl with Krrsantan was gloves-off Wookiee violence at its best.
Which thus made this episode very much a game of two halves, for me.Robert Rodriguez is a bit like this in my experience, very hit & miss- he gave us Sin City, but he also gave us Predators.😬
Will just have to see where the gang syndicate warfare takes us.

1. The space hipster street toughs. Too shiny, and each had their own color vespa, like they were The Wiggles from the wrong side of town, but well funded, like a trust-fund gang. Too gimmicky - Go Go Gadget leg spike! It took me out of the story with the Scooty Puff Jr. chase. 2. Danny - while he doesn't have the same gravitas as the original rancor keeper, he does seem to be a little too much of a trojan horse. Here's to hoping he's an undercover Jedi with a light-machete! 3. The tragedy of the Tuskens. I really hope they aren't all gone, but the chief and the youth were. Hopefully the Tusken Ninja made it out and comes back this season. I guess the Tusken Chief was played by Sean Bean. 4. The Hutt Twins. How bad must it suck to have to carry that litter, and as far as they did out to the palace? I guess they don't want to send a droid for Holo-Zoom call, though tactically, it was an exposed play to roll up like that. I'm not entirely sold on them yet, but we'll see how it goes. I'd say 70-80% of this episode was good

Loved hearing those signature blaster sounds and seismic charges taking out the sarlacc!😜
I liked seeing how Boba and Fennec got together. I know a lot of people feel like it's a slow start to a season that only has 7 episodes. But I don't mind... as long as this show is able to keep going after some time in retrospect I'll be glad we got all that stuff. Looks like Boba is 100% heeled so most likely no more bacta flashbacks from here?
We got to see a bit of established relationships (however small) with the Power Ranger biker gang. Might be some more history there on top of them helping Fennec coming too.
I've heard lots of complaints on YouTubers about this show but I myself have little to no complaints about this show. Sure,,, it could've been taken from a much different bounty hunter more action type show but as long is this is 1000% better (IMHO) than the ST I'm very happy with this. I think a lot of people wanted to see a cold blooded killer bounty hunter Boba which in many ways would've been really cool. Some are saying he's been too Disneyfied but anyone really familiar with the (original) Jango backstory from Star Wars Bounty Hunter in 2002 knows that Jango was a man of honor and respected by all the underground as stated by Hondo Ohnaka in the Clone Wars when young Boba was getting too close to Aurra Sing.
I like the show, like the character and think this is headed in a GREAT direction!?!?!
Oh... and I couldn't find it and maybe I was just seeing things but could've SWORE that one of the black sun syndicate guys was Ron Perlman??? I obviously could be wrong and maybe he didn't make the credit billing for "this" episode with no lines but that guy has an awesome track record of playing aliens and monsters... hope it is him and he has a bigger part coming up? Hell Boy, Beauty and the Beast, Viceroy to Praetor Shinzon in Star Trek Nemesis... just hoping 🤞 cause a significant role here would be awesome!
Can anyone confirm that or am I just grasping at straws here?

The momentary look on Boba'a face as he pulled the trigger on the bike gang made me smile. This episode really starting putting the pieces in place for sure, setting up that long road to the finale. I really hope the next four are longer like this one.

On some level, I'm happy that they haven't had cameos of the bounty hunter all-stars - too much OT fan-service too soon would risk getting smaltzy, and gives them chances to use them later. ** Also, there isn't any way IG-88 can live up to Taika Waititi's IG-11. I'm always a fan of seismic charges, so that was fine, though the "don't push my buttons" was kind of cheesey (not like PT C-3po levels of cheesey puns). I liked Fennec's spy droid/drone, though the bright red lights on it don't lend to stealth. It was a cool sequence of them getting slave 1 back. It was a pretty solid episode, including the rancor under the table bit to intimidate the other leaders.

Just wanna put this out there. I'm having a great time with the show. Sure I have my critiques but that doesn't mean I really like it. Normally my "in depth" or detailed discussions take place over the phone with friends or in pms. Trying to change that a bit these days. And on that note, T minus 3 hours and 19 minutes to tonight's episode?! Looking forward to seeing Mando show up. And jizz music, I hope we get some more jizz music. Yes, it's called jizz music now.

Me staring at my screen this whole episode..... It..... was like the perfect episode. It had everything, I don't even know where to start. Looks like the Black series DS is screen used now. Grogu's chain mail Beskar is basically Frodo and his mithril now. I love that idea so much. And let's take a moment to talk about Mando's new ride... I got quiet and was just in awe of that rebuild scene how they brought back the Naboo fighter. How awesome... Written Directed by Ron Howard's daughter Bryce Dallas Howard. What an episode!!

Accurate in every way. I can already see the shortsighted fans will complain about a 99% mando episode dropping in a BoBF series, as I myself *almost* fell victim to the same thought. Buut, if Mando is to be introduced into Boba's story arc he can't just show up with a new ship (unexplained). One of the things I loved about the rebuild scene was the return to "wooden dialogue" as Lucas was known for in the OT. Made up names for ship parts and such. It leaves the viewer like "Ok, if that's what you call it?", really let's you feel the immersion. At least, it did for me. 12/10.

I for one am "not", short sighted and thought this was a FANTASTIC episode of (The Mandalorian😅🤣😂) I have no issues... I thought it was great! I'm kind of with Obi-Shane here, I honestly don't even know where to start it was so awesome! I think I'm gonna have to watch it again this evening after work and gather up some detailed comments. So much history, lore, and nostalgia in this for episode for me. One comment though... "how come whenever we see new republic officers they're always acting like rent a cops??? Lol"
