I’ve tested and tested this board. Plugged into a pc and it did not boot up. Then I go and wire it up, just to see if something else is going on. it doesn’t turn on when power applied. Ok, that’s odd. Let’s just plug it in to the pc again and see if I can see it as a bootloader. Nothing happens. Can someone look at this board and see if there’s anything I’m missing here? I wired everything just fine. It’s gotta be something else since even just plugging into a pc isn’t working. ibb.co/6bXq9Cx

It's usually not possible to tell what is wrong from a picture. You have to test and measure each component to figure that out. It seems fairly clear thought that either the wiring is wrong, the board is broken, or both. Do you have 3.3v on the 3.3v pad? Does the board show up as STM32 BOOTLOADER if you do BOOT+RESET? What does the reset of the wiring look like?

Here's the wiring diagram: ibb.co/H2WsKgLAll wires are as shown in the diagram I have triple checked. As for the 3.3v, I actually have nothing on that Pad. Im using SD power for the BT Card and im running the batt+ and all red lines to the Batt+ as showing the diagram. No the board doesnt show on boot+reset STM32.

Ahh shoot I didnt realize what you meant. When I have power applied via a battery, the 3.3v pad has .55v on it. When I have it hooked up via USB, the 3.3v pad has .95v. Neither sounds correct. Also, when battery connected, getting 3.7v on the BATT+ so I know at least its getting to it.

Does anything get warm? If so, that's an indication of where the problem is. If nothing gets warm, I think you should try disconnecting the BT module and see if that helps.

I’ve desoldered it completely. Just now testing with pc only until some movement is made. Nothing gets warm when plugged into a pc either. I’ve held the reset+boot buttons for various times and watched ardrinos serial monitor and zadig service list like a hawk and nothing. It’s a brand new chip, no damage, never misused, never soldered incorrectly. As a matter of fact, after my tests with it soldered I swapped it 1 to 1 wire for wire with another chip, and it’s completely fine, so I KNOW it wasn’t the wiring. Wish I could just get this thing recognized by my pc, or anything! Uhg

With the chip shortages, there have been some bad batches of Proffiees showing up here and there. Do you happen to know the vendor? If it was Crimson Dawn, there was a set they sold missing the ESD protection chip from what I've read in a few forums.

They asked me to send it to them for replacement, so that’s what I’m going to do. I really appreciate this forum and the support provided. Thanks for all the help but I think you’re right, I may have just gotten a dud. Luckily the saber bay is pretty reputable so they’re being very helpful.

Honestly I packed it up already but I’m pretty sure it is.
