The Mandalorian DS will be in the near future.
We chose to continue on the rebels DS because we fell in love with the challenge and the overall design aesthetics.
Its important to note that we spent a long time researching and pouring over the source materials. This is common practice, and that will be no different with the Mando version.
Project: Darkstar
This saber has some really complicated details- ( all 3d machined parts) REVEALS/FINE DETAILS/ CHASSIS/ACCURACY/METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION/ ETC.
We are whittling away at processes to get the cost as far down as we can.
We will have to cap the amount of the hilts we make, and it will play a role in the cost/ production schedule.
We are close to posting the official run thread, please bear with us as we make the calculations for the jump to light speed.

Yeah, I just meant in the future. Just because I saw some of your replies on this thread about doing a Mando version "in the near future." Wondering if that was still a plan.

Yes, as with every project there is a lot of work that takes place before a design even gets close to producing.
To do the mandalorian DS right, it will undergo the same process as every other prop. Its not right now, but it is definitely going to happen.

Has anyone else noticed that The Mandalorian version of the Darksaber has glowing vents where the four upper panels are? Might be cool to modify a Darkstar to be like this. Also from what we can see, it's otherwise basically the same as the Rebels version, so I'm glad that the Rebels version was selected for Darkstar.  |

Will the saber only be useable with the project darkstar hilt ? Or can i buy the blade and attach it to my own hilt ?
