Terrible news reporting. They didn't even describe the lightsaber to any detail...sheesh. And probably used a stock photo. What other saber's did he have and why did he chose THAT the specific one?!?

I'm pretty sure the pics of the sabers in that article are just stock ones off the net and not representative of whatever saber the perp used.

Im sorry deflect what exactly? This isnt newsworthy at all. To call this newsworthy is farce. There are plenty wrong going on in American society that needs or deserves to be shared and addressed. Dont know where youre going with your backhanded remark/passive-aggressive comment. There are FAR worse acts out there. One mentally-challenged 42 year old who smacked his mom with a toy lightsaber and getting a couple minor cuts and bruises isnt breaking news and shouldnt be in the news at all. Why not address the recent Vegas Shooting footage that was just released a week ago or the April 20th Ocala, Florida shooting? |

Why does no one understand when someone is joking in a good-natured ribbing sort of way anymore? It was a joke. Whether or not the article was "newsworthy" (which btw, is subjective, not objective) was never in my thoughts when I read the article, your post or made my joke at your expense. The reason I made my joke in the first place was because your post was exactly the kind of post the man mentioned in the article would make if he were to try to deflect people away from the terrible act he committed in the article by trying to state that the article itself is a joke and unworthy of attention. In other words, it's in the same vein as me saying to you "I think thou dost protest to much", again, though as a joke, not as being serious. I don't actually think you're the guy mentioned in that article. In other words, I was hoping you would see it as a joke and either get a small chuckle out of it or even play along by replying something like "Ssh ARKM! Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.", etc. That said you obviously take this type of news seriously enough to be upset that it gets published (I don't but you do and that's ok, to each their own) and I'm sorry that you were offended by me not taking it seriously that it got published and making a joke about your post. No offense was meant. |
